THE sudden death of a popular Kingswinford teacher has left a lifesaving legacy for flying midlands medics.
Mick Howard, head of business studies at Summerhill School, Lodge Lane, died aged 44 on July 23 after suffering a heart attack.
Mr Howard's will left a request for a donations page to be set up for Midlands Air Ambulance and the charity reports cash has been flooding in.
Summerhill School headteacher, Ben Warren, said: "Mick Howard was a hard working, well liked and respected teacher, his sudden and unexpected death has come as a great shock to staff and students.
"A website for donations has been set up and a spokesperson for the charity has told the school that it is one of the fastest growing donation sites they have ever benefited from, with almost £1000 being donated in the first few days."
Yorkshire-born Mr Howard had been a teacher at Summerhill since 1999, his funeral took place in Darton, Yorkshire, on August 2.
