KINVER Old People's Welfare will be handing out their annual Christmas shopping vouchers on Friday December 6.

The vouchers, which are only available for those living within the parish of Kinver, will be given out at the Senior Citizens Rooms, Legion Drive, between 9.30am and 2pm.

They will be given to women over the age of 60 and men, aged 65 or over, who bring proof of age and a current utility bill, which contains an address.

This welfare was the brainchild of Ken Wrigley and his wife Rose.

But since their deaths, it has been carried on by a dedicated committee, supported by donations from the Wrigley Memorial Charity, Kinver Darts Club and The Monday Bingo Club.

The value of this year’s voucher is being kept under wraps as a surprise for those who attend on the day.

Vouchers can only be spent in shops in Kinver that support the scheme.
