The November meeting was something of a role reversal, when the membership hosted an evening specially for their committee.
The audience enjoyed a fascinating talk on the history of the sewing needle manufacturing industry in Redditch. The history of the John James needle factory, still a world leader in needles which include those for heart surgery, proved to be something of an education.
The evening continued with a delicious supper, and gifts for all the committee members.
The WI had taken part in the Remembrance Sunday service at Enville.
Kinver WI will be celebrating 25 years in its present form, on Friday, December 13. It will include a celebratory cake, to be cut by a founding member.
Before then, the group will be attending a pre-Christmas lunch, two Carol services, running a stall at St Peter’s Christmas Fayre and generally entering into the spirit of the season.
The group meets on the second Monday of each month, at 7.30pm, at the Senior Citizens Hall, Kinver. For more details, visit the website at kinvervillagewi.co.uk
