Hilary Twigg must be a very popular speaker from the number of members and visitors who came along to the February meeting.

Hilary is from Pershore College and she was talking on “Pruning shrubs and fruit trees”.

She covered all aspects from shrubs, roses of all varieties, soft fruits and fruit trees, in a really down to earth manner.

She suggested why, how and when to prune and not to be afraid.

After all, you can always pay a visit to the garden centre if things go wrong.

Hilary then answered questions from the audience.

Competition winners this month were: Derek Smith for his cacti and Rosemary Pope for the flower of the month.

There is a meal at “Basil’s” in Kinver to look forward to on March 18.

Then in May will be the Plant Extravaganza.

So, members, don’t forget when tidying your garden to pot any spare plants for the sale.

At the meeting on Thursday March 27 William Scott will speak on “Keeping tools sharp”.

This is at 7.30pm in St Peter’s Church Hall, Vicarage Drive, Kinver.

Visitors are most welcome.
