KINVER shoppers are asked to spare a minute that may later save their lives.

They are being encouraged to have their blood pressure checked at monitoring sessions taking place in Kinver High Street on Saturday April 18.

Practitioners will be on hand to check shoppers' blood pressure levels as part of national Stroke Awareness Day.

They will be taking place at the White Harte pub from 10am until 4pm.

Anyone diagnosed with dangerously high or low blood pressure levels will be urged to consult their doctor to help alleviate the condition.

Kinver Rotary Club has helped set up the monitoring session and spokesman Chris Elcock said: "Under normal circumstances people are not aware if they have blood pressure problems.

"Anybody who has not had a test recently will be invited for a reading which will take no more than a minute - but might save their life."
