KINVER High School has been rocked by the tragic death of former student Georgie Evans who lost her life in a car crash in Dudley.

Georgie, aged 18, was killed when the Ford Fiesta she was driving was involved in a collision with an Audi in Priory Road last Thursday night (October 27).

The teenager, who left Kinver High School two years ago, was found lying in the road after the smash, seriously hurt and in cardiac arrest – and despite the efforts of emergency medics at the scene nothing could be done to save her.

Chris Rogers, headteacher at Kinver High School, described Georgie, from Himley, as a “lovely girl” and he said her untimely death had “shaken up a lot of people who work here”.

He told the News: “We’re all really sad about it.

“She did really well at school; she worked hard and got her just rewards for that."

He said it had been devastating to "find out such a young life has been snuffed out in such an awful way" and he added: "Our heart goes out to her parents.”

Georgie’s distraught mum and dad described their daughter as “beautiful, kind-hearted and spirited” in a statement and friends rushed to pay tribute to the popular teen on Facebook.

Nikole Roberts said Georgie was “always making jokes” and would “always make sure everyone was happy” and Matt Ray said: “Everyone loved Georgie to bits. I’m heartbroken.”

Josh Hobbs said: “I’m so sad that’s she’s gone as she was a lovely girl and had her whole life ahead of her.”

A mass of flowers have been left by friends and relatives at the scene of the crash, which happened at around 10.35pm and which also saw a male passenger – believed to be in his 20s – taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital with neck and back injuries.

Stourbridge News:

The driver of the Audi, 24-year-old Kuba Oles, of Beacon View Road, West Bromwich, handed himself in to police on Friday night after an appeal - and was later charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

He appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court on Monday, where he faced further charges of failing to stop at a road accident, failing to report an accident and another dangerous driving offence from earlier this month.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on November 28.
