KINVER Rotary Club members are once again set to spread festive cheer while raising cash for good causes during a series of outings with Santa and his sleigh around Kinver and Stourbridge.

The club has dusted off its Christmas sleigh which will be putting in its first appearance of the year at Kinver's traditional late night shopping event on Friday November 25.

Santa will arrive in the village at 7pm and the sleigh will be located in front of the clinic in the High Street where a host of shops will be open until 9pm.

Although the Big Tree isn't expected to be in place in time for this year's event - food outlets will be serving seasonal food and drinks to visitors on the pavements and choristers will be singing in Chenevare Mews to get villagers into the Christmas spirit.

The following week, the festive figure will be back in Kinver for Small Business Saturday - and, for the first time, the sleigh will be sited in a specially built grotto behind Kaye's Deli in the High Street from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday December 3. Other entertainment throughout the day will include Irish dancing, choir performances, an Elvis Presley tribute and children's competition.

Kinver Rotary's Santa will also be putting in a repeat visit to the Mary Stevens Hospice Santa Jog in Mary Stevens Park, Norton, on Sunday December 11 - from 9.30am.

Santa and his sleigh will also be touring the streets around Kinver, Stourbridge, Kingswinford and Wall Heath areas from 6pm to 9pm on a host of evenings throughout December.

Dates/routes are as follows:

Saturday 10 - Kingswinford; Monday 12 – Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston; Tuesday 13 - Vicarage Road, Wollaston; Wednesday 14 - Wall Heath; Thursday 15 - Stone Lane, Kinver; Saturday 17 – Aldi supermarket, Wollaston, Prestwood and Homestead residential homes and Kinver High Street; Monday 19 - Dark Lane and Dunsley; Tuesday 20 - Stourton; Wednesday 21 – Hyde Lane and Enville; Thursday 22 - White Hill, Kinver.
