AN inquest into the death of a former Kinver student will be opened in Shrewsbury tomorrow (Tuesday, December 13).

Jack de Bell, 18, died on the morning of Saturday, December 3, after his car hit a tree near Telford.

The collision happened shortly before 4.30am near to New House Farm on the B4176 near Sutton Maddock and involved a silver Ford Fiesta which was travelling towards the village.

Jack, who was driving the vehicle, left the road and collided with a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jack’s former headteacher at Kinver High School and Sixth Form, Chris Rogers, paid tribute to the “popular” student.

Mr Rogers said: “We are really upset about Jack’s death. He really was a lovely young man.

“He was always very polite, friendly and well mannered, however he had a cheeky charm about him which made him very popular with staff and other students.

“Our school is a tight knit community with strong connections to Kinver village and we all share a great sadness at the loss of Jack.

“Our hearts go out to his friends and in particular to his brother Harry and his mum.”

An inquest into Jack’s death will be opened by the coroner for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin area at 9.30am tomorrow at The Shirehall, Shrewsbury.
