CO-ORDINATORS of the annual Kinver Calendar say the charity initiative has proved another resounding success.

Around 160 images were submitted for possible inclusion in the 2017 calendar – and just a handful of copies now remain available from the first print run of 200.

Charlie Sadler, of Kinver Country Fayre, has this year been co-ordinating the initiative, which was first thought up in 2014 by web designer Andy Calloway, and the calendars, produced in A3 and A4 formats this time, have been selling like hot cakes both online and from a number of village outlets.

In fact – only a handful of A3 landscape calendars, priced £7.95, are now available, in S&S Bags and Omnipresent in Kinver.

Money raised from sales of the calendar, which has been sponsored by ten village businesses, will go to Kinver organisations/charities selected by the sponsors.

Mr Sadler said: “We’re hopeful we’re going to raise over £1,000.”

The 12 calendar images were chosen by a panel of judges, comprising two professional photographers, after a public vote whittled down 160 initial submissions to the top 24.

Mr Sadler said: “We opened it up to everyone in the village through Facebook to pick the final 24 – then it was down to the judges. I don’t think we could be fairer than that.”
