GET up close and personal with some feathered friends in Kinver this half term.

Kinver Community Library is inviting local residents to spend time with two different species of owl during a special visit from the World Owl Trust.

Alan Peace from the Himley-based charity will be showcasing the birds in the children's section of the library between 10am and 12.30pm on Wednesday (February 22).

Both children and adults will have the opportunity to learn about their life and habits, handle the birds – wearing leather gloves, have photographs with them, as well as enjoy the antics and beauty of the wild creatures.

Ego Schirrmacher, chairman of Kinver Community Library, said: “This free event promises to be really fascinating, so why not pay us a flying visit.

“There’s no need to book, you can just wing it, but you’d be wise to put it in your diary.”
