LYE-based company Arbil 4x4 has donated more than £1,000 worth of equipment to aid a search and rescue team in its quest to circumnavigate the British coastline in a small inflatable boat.

Arbil 4x4, which makes and distributes specialist lifting equipment, rail maintenance equipment and 4x4 off-road accessories, were contacted by the Derbyshire based Watersafe UK to help with the challenge.

They will start their nine day task in Poole, Dorset on September 9  to raise funds for the both the team and the Royal National Lifeboat Institute.

John Faulconbridge, a member of the search and rescue team said he was thrilled to receive the products, which included winching accessory kits that will help the team pull the boat from the shore.

He added: “Not only will these products be a great help during the challenge but they will also be put to good use by the rescue team at any incident in the future - undoubtedly aiding any search and research mission they are needed for. It’s great that Arbil have recognised the hard work that we do at Watersafe UK and we hope to work together on other projects in the future."

Stephanie Bergin, head of marketing at Arbil 4x4 said: “We were thrilled that the guys at Watersafe UK had thought of Arbil to help them with their challenge and we were more than happy to support such a worthy cause.”
