A COMMUNITY cricket match in Lye raised £850 towards the rebuilding of the town’s mosque.
The charity event, organised by Lye councillor Mohammed Hanif, saw councillors from Dudley Council and officers from West Midlands Police teaming up to take on members of the community on August 25.
Money raised from the match will go towards the redevelopment of Lye’s Ghausia Mosque, off the High Street, which worshippers aim to bring into the 21st century with a new community hall and extra parking spaces.
