A LYE car business was gutted by a blaze caused by a worker accidentally dropping a tool into petrol vapours.
Firefighters arrived at Hayes Car Centre at 4.57pm yesterday (Thursday), following a 999 call.
The whole of the centre, located on the Hayes Business Park, was damaged by the fire.
Eleven cars and a forklift truck were also destroyed.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said a worker had accidentally ignited the petrol vapour whilst working on a car.
Paramedics treated a workman at the scene who had superficial burns to his forehead and took him to Russells Hall Hospital for further treatment.
A man from a neighbouring factory who had suffered smoke inhalation was also taken to hospital.
