A DOG walker has landed a hefty £415 court bill after he allowed his pet to foul on the street near his home in Lye.
David Walker, of Claycroft Place, was spotted by a police officer when he failed to clean up after his dog on July 3.
He was sent a £50 fine by Dudley Council, which he ignored, along with a reminder letter.
The 48-year-old also failed to attend Dudley Magistrates Court but was found guilty of the offence in his absence.
Walker was fined £100 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £295 court costs.
Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “This sends out a clear message that we will not tolerate people who allow their dogs to foul in the street and not clean it up.
“Clearing up after your dog takes a few seconds, but the alternative could leave you with a costly bill from court.”
