ONE of the major roads into Stourbridge was closed for almost two hours on Thursday evening after an articulated lorry crashed into a railway bridge.
Stourbridge Road, which connects the town to Lye, was closed between the junction of Hungary Hill and Cemetery Road between 3pm and 4.50pm, causing severe traffic in the rush hour period.
West Midlands Fire Service sent two engines from Brierley Hill station to the scene, which made the area safe.
A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were made aware of the incident, but no one involved suffered injuries.

West Midlands Police were on the scene just before 3pm before calling the fire service to assist in the recovery of the lorry.
A railway assessment officer was also sent to the incident as the bridge needed to be inspected to make sure it was safe for rail services.
The crash also created delays to trains between Stourbridge Junction and Lye, while the number 9 bus was diverted around the incident.
