CALEDONIA citizens have been out on their streets once again in a bid to stop speeding motorists on the estate.

Members from the Caledonia Residents Association were monitoring traffic levels recently, and also deployed their radar gun to clock the speed of passing vehicles.

They registered 40 vehicles in the 30 minute slot with 23 vehicles travelling in excess of the 30mph limit, but none going over 40mph.

David Adams, association chairman, said: “We are pleased that there has been a marked decrease in the recorded speed of vehicles travelling along Caledonia.

“However, committee members are determined to ensure that motorists who use this road continue to keep their speed down.

“We will be undertaking further speed awareness campaigns at different locations along Caledonia, on different days of the week and at different times of the day.

“Details of any vehicle recorded as exceeding the speed limit will be passed to the police for a warning letter to be sent.”
