THREE people have been taken to hospital and a child has been injured after a car crash in Lye this afternoon (Friday, October 21).

Emergency services were called to the junction of Pedmore Road and Green Lane at 1pm to reports of a two car smash.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said three patients were taken to Russells Hall Hospital by ambulance, while a child was also treated at the scene.

A woman in her 30s, the driver of one of the two vehicles, was found by parameics to be suffering chest pain and had a cut to her head.

The driver of the second car, a man in his 70s, who was out of the car when ambulance crews arrived, was also suffering from chest pains and was given pain relief at the scene.

A woman in her 70s was also given pain relief before being taken to hospital.

The road is currently blocked, with slow traffic being reported in High Street, around the Dudley Road junction.
