MUSIC lovers can enjoy a free open-air concert across the borough this summer.

Mary Stevens Park will host the Black Country Brass on Sunday (July 21) as part of Dudley Council’s music in the park concert series.

Other bands performing at the park include Thorns Community Music Group on Sunday July 28 and Out of the Blue Big Band on Sunday September 8.

The Black Country Ukulele Players will be strumming away in the grounds of Himley Hall on Sunday (July 21) and at Quarry Bank Park on Sunday August 11.

Back at Himley Hall on Sunday August 4 is Paul Drakeley and the Allstars Band.

While at the country house and park visitors can take a stroll in the gardens or pay a visit to the Oak Tea Room inside Himley Hall which is open 2pm to 4.30pm most Sundays until September 1.

Councillor Tracy Wood, cabinet member for environment and culture, said: “We have some beautiful parks in the borough and these free concerts make spending a summery Sunday afternoon in the park even more appealing.

“I hope that local people enjoy the music, the scenery and this free community entertainment.”

All concerts run from 2.30pm to 5pm.
