A ‘PERFECT family’ was how the victims of the Stourbridge stabbings were described in tributes paid this morning.

Peter Wilkinson, his wife Tracey and their 13-year-old son Pierce were subjected to the attack yesterday morning (Thursday), with daughter Lydia away from the family’s Greyhound Lane home at university.

Tracey was pronounced dead at the scene, while Pierce later died in hospital. Businessman Peter, aged 47, remained in a critical but stable condition in hospital today (Friday).

Among the numerous tributes which have been paid to the family since the tragic incident, Tracey Parbery, chairman of Hall Green Retired Greyhound Trust, said the trust could not have wanted a better home for racer Mandy which was homed by the family in 2015.

Stourbridge News:

Mandy – who was not injured in the attack – has now been taken in by a family member.

Tracey told the News: “Peter, Tracey and the children were great advocates for the trust and showed what wonderful pets greyhounds are.

“Once they homed a greyhound from us they became part of the family, so when we got the news it was absolutely devastating.

“We rang the police and offered to take Mandy in for the time being, but family members have taken her in which is wonderful for the dog.

“But it’s still devastating for us, as we have lost a wonderful family of wonderful people.

Stourbridge News:

“Pierce and Peter particularly loved Mandy and she really loved them too, but I think in the time to come, Mandy will still be some help to get the family through this tragedy.

“When they homed Mandy we knew she was going to have a fantastic home. They loved dogs and were big advocates of the breed and Peter would always tell people about the trust when he was out on his walks.

“You have to be a special type of person to give a dog a home and they certainly were a special family.

“They were the perfect family and we couldn’t have asked for a better home for Mandy.”
