DOUBLE murder accused Aaron Barley who is charged with killing a Stourbridge mum and son will face trial next month, a court has confirmed today.

The 24-year-old, of no fixed address, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court this afternoon (Thursday August 31) as October 3 was confirmed for his trial to go ahead.

He is accused of killing 50-year-old Tracey Wilkinson and her young son Pierce, aged 13, in a brutal attack at their home in Greyhound Lane, Norton, on March 30.

But no pleas were entered in relation to those charges - and Barley, wearing a red T shirt, stared at the floor throughout the brief hearing - as relatives of Mrs Wilkinson and Pierce watched from the public gallery.

He pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to attempting to kill husband and father Peter Wilkinson in the shocking attack at the family's home.

Judge Mark Wall QC told him the trial would "go ahead on the day it was always earmarked for" as he remanded him in custody while psychiatric reports are prepared.
