VINTAGE car enthusiasts are set to celebrate their club’s 50th anniversary this weekend with an open day in Stourbridge.

The Stourbridge Pre War Car Club was formed in June 1967 at The Bird in Hand, in Oldswinford, by a group of enthusiasts using pre-war cars as their only form of transport.

Now the group – which enjoy events, shows, organised picnics, car runs, lunches and weekends away together – meet every Thursday in Kinver and welcome owners of all vintage and classic vehicles living in the West Midlands.

To celebrate their milestone anniversary, the club are putting on an open day at the Bonded Warehouse from on Saturday (July 15).

On display will be an exhibition of more than 25 cars, varying in age from 1917 to the 1980s, alongside refreshments and street music.

Visitors will also be able to meet the owners, learn the history of the cars as well as see what the club – which has a current membership of about 80 people – gets up to.

Taking place between 11am and 4pm, the open day is free to enter to all members of the public.
