MARY Stevens Hospice will be offering people in Stourbridge and Halesowen chance to remember lost loved ones at its Tree of Light services.

The Stourbridge based hospice will hold its usual annual memorial event at St Mary’s Church, Rectory Road, Oldswinford, tomorrow (Saturday December 1), at 4.30pm, but the charity will also hold a second event at John the Baptist Church, Halesowen, on Sunday December 2 at 4pm.

Candles will be lit in church – meanwhile the hospice’s Tree of Light, which stands in the charity’s grounds off Hagley Road, Oldswinford, will be switched on at the beginning of December and will shine brightly until Twelfth Night.

Primary school choirs and traditional pipe bands will perform at the services which will be led by hospice chaplain Rev Rob Farman. Poems will also be read by hospice staff and volunteers.

Parking is limited around the churches and due to the large numbers of people expected refreshments will not be available.
