A WOMAN in her early 90s was rescued by fire fighters after a small fire broke out in her Oldswinford house this morning.
The woman, aged 92, was given oxygen therapy by West Midlands Fire Service crews when they got her from her front room.
Fire crews were called to the incident in Field Lane at about 9.49am and sent one engine with five fire fighters from Brierley Hill, two of the crew had breathing apparatus.
The crew made a call requesting an ambulance at 10.01am due to the woman inhaling fumes.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said it is not known how the fire started but did start in a bin in the woman’s front room.
