Chairman Pauline Roberts welcomed everyone to the meeting on June 17. There were ten apologies.

A new member, Iris Raybould joined us and welcomed. She formally signed the register.

This years’ President Margaret Fennel, held a coffee morning on June 11, in aid of Mary Stevens Hospice which raised £200.

In the Interguild Quiz Oldswinford came joint third. Members were reminded that the summer outing to Berrington Hall and Ludlow the next day. National Trust members were reminded to bring their membership card.

The coach would be leaving Swinford Road at 9.30am. The minutes of the previous meeting were on the notice board.

Carol Penzer provided the flowers for the table and had donated them for the raffle.

The speaker for the evening was Ruth Lowe who gave us a very interesting evening talking about the history of Mary Quant’s life and how she became an iconic leader of fashion with her clothes and accessories in the 1960s. Members found the talk interesting and very informative, and thoroughly enjoyed Ruth.

Catherine Moustache gave the vote of thanks and also won the competition for a pretty plate.

The raffle prizes were won by Dorothy Trice, Peggy Wright and Mary Nash.

Our next meeting will be on July 21, the speaker will be Caroline Baubell whose topic is the recreation of Hanbury Hall Gardens.
