ONE of the original Calendar Girls will be guest of honour at a fundraising dinner for Mary Stevens Hospice.

Tricia Stewart, the driving force behind the alternative WI calendar which inspired the hit film Calendar Girls, will be giving a talk at the Granary Hotel and Restaurant at Shenstone, near Kidderminster, on Thursday April 7.

Tricia, who was portrayed by Dame Helen Mirren in the film of the same name, was the inspiration behind the cheeky nude WI calendar which inspired a major movie and stage production and went on to raise more than £3.5 million for Leukaemia and Lymphoma research.

Sue Williams, who has organised the charity event An Evening with Tricia Stewart, said: “Tricia has an amazing and interesting story to tell, and we are delighted she has agreed to join us for this charity dinner, raising funds for Mary Stevens Hospice."

Tickets, priced £30 each and including a three-course meal, are available from Sue Williams on 01562 883834 or 07536 111637.
