JUST over £300 has been raised for Stourbridge's Mary Stevens Hospice at a jam night in memory of much-loved musician Mick Wood.

The event, held at Katie Fitzgerald's in Wollaston on Friday (July 29), raised £305 which will go towards a new £3million appeal launched by the Oldswinford hospice where 61-year-old Mick received care in his final days.

Eddy Morton, from Katie Fitzgerald’s, described Mick, who died in March 2015, as one of the pub’s “favourite customers and musicians”.

The money raised at the charity night, which included £150 from the Stourbridgefoundation4 music, will go towards a major revamp project to extend the day services unit at the Hagley Road hospice.
