STOURBRIDGE publican Chris Foxall is celebrating after his action-packed charity fun day helped rake in a whopping £10,000 for Mary Stevens Hospice.
Chris held the event at his pub, The Crown Inn on Hagley Road, on Sunday August 30.
Entertainment included a barbecue, children’s face painting and bouncy castle, a charity auction and live performances by Black Country musicians The Starving Rascals, Perfect Stranger and Eddie Morton.
Chris said: “Despite a few showers during the afternoon the event was brilliant and to raise £10,000 far exceeded our expectations. This is due to all the support received from pub regulars, the bands, volunteers, local businesses and particularly the local residents - for putting up with us.”
Janet Jones, the hospice’s fundraising development manager, added: “Chris has proved to be a longstanding and committed supporter of Mary Stevens Hospice and we are most grateful to him, his staff and to his friends and regulars for organising this event.
“The funds raised will help us to continue the care that we offer to our patients with life-limiting illness.”
A similar event held at The Crown last year also raised £7,550 for the hospice.
