TWO Pedmore sisters are pulling out all the stops as they invite the community to a family fun day in memory of their mum.

Danielle and Bethany Baron are on a quest to raise money for the Georgina Ward at Russells Hall Hospital where their mum Julie spent most of her last few years before her death.

To honour their mum, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 before passing away from the disease in December last year, the sisters will host a Just for Julie Fun Day on Sunday, July 19.

It will take place between noon and 4pm at Ham Dingle Primary School – where Julie worked with youngsters attending the breakfast and afterschool clubs.

On the day, there will be cake and sweet sales, a raffle, bouncy castles, toy tombola, food, music, and fun and games including beat the goalie, guess the sweets in the jar and guess the name of the teddy.

Also on offer will be creative activities such as loom band making and Christmas tree decorating as well as independent stalls and a stall with breast cancer gifts.

Danielle said: “I’m currently feeling very nervous and we’re both really excited, but I’m nervous as I’m a bit of a perfectionist.

“It is going to be a fabulous – and hopefully sunny – day with lots of exciting things for kids and parents to enjoy.

“My mum would be so proud that we were doing something to help the people that helped her. She spoke very highly of the Georgina Ward ladies and she'd be totally overwhelmed by the support were had in the run up to the event.

“She'd hate knowing it was all about her as she was never one for attention but she'd be massively proud of us.”

Each entry ticket bought in advance, costing £3 for adults, £1.50 for children or £5 per family, has its own raffle ticket attached meaning automatic entry into the raffle.

To buy tickets in advance, contact Danielle or Bethany on facebook, or call Danielle on 01384 396257. Tickets will also be available on the day.

The duo have set up a Facebook page called Just for Julie, where they are keeping supporters updated on their fundraising progress.
