A GROUP of Black Country fundraisers are gearing up for a charity ride along the canal in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Garry Pearson from Quarry Bank and Gavin Purser from Wollaston are among those taking part in the Wheels in Motion charity cycle ride from the Corn Exchange pub in Quarry Bank to the Lock Inn at Wolverley and back.
The pair, who are both supporting the cause after losing family members to cancer, hope to get up to 100 cyclists to join in the ride which will cover 24 miles and will take up to two hours each way - including stops en route.
Garry said: “We want to raise as much money as possible but in a fun way.”
The riders will be setting out from the Corn Exchange on Saturday September 21 at 9am.
Anyone wishing to take part can pick up a sponsor form from the pub, off Mount Pleasant, or check out Facebook page www.facebook.com/events/551596348238872/
