A TWO-car crash has caused major tailbacks and rush hour traffic on a busy Quarry Bank road.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the smash, near the junction of Waterfall Road and Caledonia, at about 7.38am.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said the non-fatal crash saw neither of the drivers suffer major injuries, but one of the drivers was treated on the scene for cuts to their chin.

West Midlands Ambulance Service also dispatched an ambulance to the crash, which transferred one of the drivers to Russells Hall Hospital as a precaution for their minor injuries.

Police are still on the scene where officers are waiting for the Highways Agency to clear the road.
