STOURBRIDGE will be the next stop on the Google Digital Garage bus tour.

The internet giant has converted a traditional double decker bus into a digital training hub and is offering people across the town a chance to get free digital coaching and advice from 10am to 5pm when it stops off in Crown Square tomorrow (Friday January 26).

The Google Digital Garage bus will offer free workshops and face-to-face coaching, with visitors having the option to just drop by for on-the-spot help.

The training will range from beginner to intermediate levels and topics will include taking your first steps online, how to build your digital CV and personal brand online, and social media strategy.

Anyone interested in the free coaching can register and see the full training itinerary at: g.co/DigitalGaragebus.

Ronan Harris, managing director at Google UK, said: “We’ve helped more than 200,000 people learn new digital skills through the Google Digital Garage. Now, by taking our digital skills training on the road to Stourbridge, we want to make training even more accessible and equip local people with the skills they need to find a job, grow in their career or grow their business”.

Stourbridge MP Margot James, Minister for Digital and the Creative Industries, said: "It is great see Google's Digital Garage helping people in Stourbridge improve their digital skills. This is a vital part of the government's partnership with industry to deliver 4 million free training opportunities through the Digital Skills Partnership.

"We've already helped to deliver more than two million opportunities in less than a year across the UK as we work to ensure that no-one is left behind."
