The AGM of the society will take place at the Portal HQ of the Dudley Canal Trust at Dudley on March 28 at 7.30pm.
Immediately afterwards a lecture will be given by Dr Mike Haynes intriguingly entitled 'Getting rid of the stink'.
Dr Haynes is an emeritus professor at the University of Wolverhampton and will discuss the efforts of the Victorians to eliminate death by typhoid, cholera and diphtheria from the exploding urban population. Visitors are welcome. Admission £2.
