At the February meeting chairman Mary Jones welcomed 30 members to the AGM at the Kingfisher Hotel, Wall Heath. She thanked everyone for braving such atrocious weather but once inside the warm bright dining room everyone settled down to enjoy an excellent three-course meal.

The chairman, treasurer and secretary gave appropriate reports which showed that once again it had been an excellent year.

Members had wished their old friends at the Kingfisher a happy retirement and were delighted with the new management who had transformed the decor and were serving excellent food.

Speaker secretary Pauline Handley explained the new programme which included talks on Witley Court, canal art, my life my passion, the old hall story, waterboring in the Grenadines, flower arranging and Nova chocolates. Ann Rogers was arranging a visit to Dudley Zoo including a cream tea and a coach outing to Gloucester Docks.

On March 14, speaker John Mobberley will be asking “Do you remember when?” All meetings are held on the second Friday each month, 12pm for 12.30pm, departing at 3pm. Visitors will receive a warm welcome and can come three times before deciding whether to become a member.
