STOURBRIDGE MP Margot James is hosting a Universities Outreach event tonight (Thursday April 10) in Stourbridge as part of her Raising Aspirations programme for pupils at Black Country schools.

Taking place from 5pm to 7.30pm at Amblecote’s Glasshouse College, the event is the second annual Universities Outreach evening organised by the MP to give students chance to meet representatives from a number of Russell Group universities.

The last one attracted more than 300 local students and parents.

Margot said: “It is great to be bringing some of the UK’s top universities to Stourbridge to meet with local parents and students. This is the next event in the Aspirations Programme I have been running with the nearby schools and colleges, and I do hope that many pupils will take this chance to network with the high calibre of universities attending. It’s a great chance to find out whether specific courses or universities could be right, and parents will be able to get the information they need as well.”

The evening will include a series of university-run workshops on topics including student finance, how to choose a course, the application process and student life.
