BLACK Country students can look forward to using brand new science laboratories this term.

More than £1million has been invested to bring the facilities up to date at Birmingham Metropolitan College's Stourbridge campus this summer - in addition to the £5m being spent on a new reception area and centre of excellence for early years, health and social care, due to be completed in February.

Ben Grimley, assistant director for science at the Stourbridge campus said: "We're all really excited by the prospect of moving the faculty into new purpose-built laboratories as part of a multi-million pound refurbishment of the Hagley Road site.

"It will now enable the college to deliver A-level physics alongside other A-level sciences and enable more science courses to be offered to part-time students and adult learners."
