CUSTOMERS enjoying a cuppa in Stourbridge’s Ryemarket shopping centre as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning have raised around £500 to help cancer sufferers.

Tables and chairs were set up throughout the centre on Friday September 26 so people could enjoy a coffee in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support; centre and shop staff also ran a cake stall and raffle - and Costa Coffee pledged to donate a percentage of its profits from the morning to the cancer charity.

Centre manager Kelley Dyas said: "We had lots of fantastic prizes donated by the retailers for our tombola.

“Cakes were donated by the Ryemarket staff as well as lots of my friends and family. Stourbridge Fair Trade Group also baked cakes and sent volunteers to help and we are so grateful for all the help and donations.

"So far £404.06 has been raised and with Costa Coffee still adding up their percentage of takings, we hope we will reach £500 in total."

The Ryemarket also laid on games, a magician and balloon modelling for little ones - and a visit from children’s character Ryely Mouse.
