IT can take weeks to find the courage to have a drastic haircut but for Stourbridge teen Jade Taylor, it was an easy decision.

She braved the scissors and lopped off her long hair at Halesowen salon Room Twenty 3, to donate to the Little Princess Trust.

It was the third time the 18-year-old has given her hair to to the charity, which makes wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

The University of Birmingham student also raised more than £100 in sponsorship, which she will donate to Cancer Research.

Jade, who is studying English literature and Hispanic studies, said: "I decided to donate my hair again, simply because it had grown long enough. I believe that these children should be able to feel beautiful, even whilst facing such ugly challenges."

Jade made the donation on September 15 in memory of her grandmother, Sylvia Bagley, who died of cancer.
