RAILWAY cops are trying to track down two men after a man and woman were viciously attacked on a train as it arrived in Stourbridge.

The incident happened as the train arrived at Stourbridge Junction railway station and left one of the victims with a "nasty head injury".

British Transport Police say trouble flared onboard the train after a group of four men boarded at Kidderminster and began interacting with a group of friends travelling to Birmingham for a night out.

Detective Constable Dan Hart said: “An altercation broke out and two of the men from the group of four threatened members of the other group before one of the men punched the female victim and then struck the male victim with a glass bottle, causing a cut to his forehead which required stitches."

After trawling through CCTV footage from onboard the train, detectives have now released images of two men they want to speak to in connection with the incident which happened at around 11.15pm on Saturday September 20.

DC Hart is urging anyone who might recognise the men captured on camera to get in touch. He added: "We would also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

“This was a violent assault which has left the victim with a nasty head injury. It’s vital that we trace those responsible.”
