STAFF at a Stourbridge building society are hoping to warm the hearts of customers by selling home baked treats for charity.

Cake and coffee will be on offer at The West Brom on Friday (December 5), with all donations going to the Alzheimer’s Society to support people affected by dementia.

Christian Sadler, manager at the High Street branch, said: “Alzheimer’s Society is our charity of the year and we hope this latest fundraising event will help us brew up a tasty total on their behalf.

“With Christmas fast approaching we’ll be trying to capture the festive spirit and taking a moment to think about those individuals and families having to cope with dementia, which can be particularly challenging at this time of year.”

Marc Shaw, the charity's community fundraiser for the West Midlands, added: “We are extremely grateful to the West Brom and its customers for their continued support of Alzheimer’s Society.

"Their efforts will not only help to support people with dementia and their carers, but also raise awareness of the condition which affects over 73,000 people in the West Midlands.”
