STOURBRIDGE Rock Choir surprised unsuspecting shoppers at Merry Hill with a rousing rendition of a Coldplay song.
The choir staged a flash mob in the Brierley Hill shopping centre's BHS store as part of its fundraising campaign for the Missing People charity.
Shoppers heard a handful of voices singing Viva La Vida at 1pm on Saturday (December 6), before the rest of the 80 strong choir joined in.
Choir leader Christa Hugo said: "We have long been supporters of Missing People and when they asked us to put on a Christmas performance at Merry Hill, we thought we could go one better and stage a flash mob as well.
"It certainly took everyone by surprise and I think it encouraged a few more donations."
Generous shoppers donated £129 on the day, which will be added to the £717 raised at a Big Sing event last month, where Rock Choir members from across the West Midlands and Worcestershire came together to raise funds at Stourport Civic Hall.
