President Marjorie Ferguson, Mistress of Ceremonies Su Roxburgh, and social secretary Ann Middleton welcomed 95 attendees, including presidents of SI Clubs of Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Smethwick and Stratford on November 28 to Hagley Golf & Country Club for the SI Stourbridge & District Annual Literary Dinner.

Guest authors were life coach Sandra Peachey of ‘Love letters to life’, and World Peace climber Tess Burrows of ‘Cold Hands, Warm Heart’ written after joining the South Pole Race.

A raffle with a gift for every ticket raised £500 of the £1,000 for Top Church Training and CHADD refuge.

Sandra Peachey first blogged her letters before publication, illustrating how women are good at making the most of life, and encouraging the possibility of us all writing a book.

Her latest ‘F Factor’ written with fellow Damsels in Success describes the fundamentals to female success achieved with relative ease, both as a female entrepreneur, and in all other areas of life.

Tess Burrows has made World Peace her motivator and completed a six pointed star of the tallest walks on the planet, taking in Equador, the Himalayas and Africa.

She has shown that grannies can do anything and believes in people power as the future of making a difference.

She invited Soroptimist Peace Messages to carry with her on her next journey, likely to New Guinea.

President Marjorie thanked both speakers who between them tackled both our inner and outer approaches to the world
