THE Stourbridge branch of TSB is asking the public to nominate a local cause to become its charity partner for 2015.

Instead of having a centrally chosen charity, the bank wants to support local communities in sharing an estimated £300,000 of fundraising by the end of the year.

Customers of the High Street branch, as well as members of the public can nominate charities and social enterprises which they believe should benefit from the fundraising.

Dawn Pomeroy, manager of TSB in Stourbridge, said: “I’m delighted to be able to launch TSB’s new Local Charity Partner initiative in Stourbridge, aimed at helping local people and local economies.

“There’s some fantastic work carried out in our community and the team here is really looking forward to supporting a local cause with their fundraising and volunteering activity.

“All nominations are welcome so we’d urge customers, charities and community enterprises in Stourbridge to pop in and make sure their chosen cause is included in the running to be our first charity partner.”

Nominations, which meet the eligibility criteria, can be made by completing a form in branch before the deadline date of Saturday (February 28).

The successful nominations will then be entered into a draw, with the winning entry being selected at random on Monday, March 2.

In 2014, TSB’s partners raised nearly £290,000 for charities across the UK by holding fundraising events such as cake sales, raffles and sponsored activities.
