On March 18, the society met in St Mary’s Church Hall, Kingswinford at 7.45pm.

The chairman welcomed Ian Bott, a long standing member of the society, who has given a variety of talks to this group over the years. He comes from Wednesbury and has written six books and now working on his seventh.

His talk was Black Country Murders. He outlined seven very gruesome murder cases, mostly domestic. Slides related to the happenings, were interesting as many illustrations had been researched and taken from old books by Ian.

Ian was thanked for his fascinating talk delivered in light hearted style.

The May 20 meeting will be another past president, Roy Peacock with “War memorials centenary”.

Roy is much involved in the Black Country War Memorials project.

Talks are open to members and non members with a charge to cover expenses of £1 and £1.50 respectively.

All meetings take place at St Mary’s Church Hall, The Village, Kingswinford at 7.45pm.
