A STOURBRIDGE band is appealing for extras to appear in their new music video.

The latest WEAK13 video will require the extras to wrap themselves up in copies of Newsquest newspapers, including the Stourbridge News and The Shuttle, which will be provided by the band.

Filming will take place on Saturday, May 2, at the Base Studios, in Rufford Road.

WEAK13 has a reputation for bizarre music videos, including the award winning First World War-set film for ‘Wake Down’.

Wesley Smith, the band’s bassist, said: “We've had music videos set in The White House, in a World War One trench and boxing rings. We try and make them as fun as possible.”

Nick J. Townsend, guitarist and lead vocalist, said: “It's always a fun process making a music video and we like to share the fun with supporters and friends and family.

“I have no idea why we are wrapping up in newspapers for the video.

“It was something I did a few years ago in one of my videos, just as something a bit different.

“When we started our live shows it was something that stuck and we’ve been doing it quite regularly on stage, but not at every gig as it gets quite uncomfortable and very hot.

“It also used to take us about six hours to get dressed up in the paper, but as we’ve been doing it for so long now we’ve got it down to an art form of 30 minutes.”

Despite the band only advertising a new music video coming out this month, the band has made the decision to film yet another one before it is released due to Nick contracted to return to Los Angeles in the summer for an acting role.

The song, which will be accompanied by the newspaper video, is planned to be released later this year.
