AMERICAN R&B star Joyce Sims, famous for her 80s hits, will be appearing at The Swan, in Stourbridge, this evening (Friday May 1).
The native New Yorker, whose top 40 hits included ‘Come Into My Life’ and ‘(You Are My) All and All’, will be live on stage from 11.30pm.
Sims, who plays piano and writes most of her songs, is a multi-talented recording artist and musician who lit up the music industry in the late 80s.
The surprise last-minute appearance was the result of a cancelled engagement elsewhere and Sims’ agent approached the owner, Karl Parke, as an alternative venue.
Karl, who has been the owner of The Swan since December 2014, has been holding regular live band and DJ nights each weekend.
He said: “This is an opportunity to see a truly great artiste and we are thrilled to have secured such a high profile act for the town.”
Tickets cost £5 and are available on the door.
