A 22-YEAR-OLD man who robbed a schoolboy of his mobile phone and money in a Stourbridge town centre alleyway has been warned he faces time behind bars.

Recorder Cieran Rankin told Philip Bingula that his previous conviction for robbery was an aggravating feature of the case.

But Mukhtar Ubhi, defending, stressed to Wolverhampton Crown Court that Bingula had – to his credit – stayed out of trouble with police for more than two years.

Bingula, of Shylton Croft, Ladywood, admitted robbery and he was remanded on bail until June 10 for a full pre-sentence report.

The recorder told him it was vital the court had all available information on his background before the case could be finalised.

However, he warned Bingula that it was likely a custodial sentence would be imposed when he returned to the court.
