A CANADIAN author who encountered the laws and customs of Iran whilst searching for traditional recipes, will speak about her experiences at a Stourbridge Library event.
Jennifer Klinec’s memoir, entitled The Temporary Bride, outlines the time she spent in the country learning to cook local dishes and – inadvertently – experiencing a forbidden love affair.
After leaving her home at 16, Jennifer has travelled the world in search of ancient recipes and set up a cookery school in her loft apartment.
She will speak about her experiences, as well as her first published novel, at the Crown Centre-based library on Thursday, June 18, at 7pm.
Councillor Rachel Harris, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “Our libraries continue to attract exceptional quality authors to share their writing experiences with local residents.”
Tickets, costing £3 and including refreshments, are available from the library by calling 01384 812945.
