Members have been really busy with planning and being involved in a Friendship Weekend during May.

The club had invited friendship link club members from Northampton; Bootle and Vevey in Switzerland to come along and be involved in various activities.

The visitors and members began the weekend with a meal at Hagley Golf & Country Club where speaker Ingrid Caras-Altas turned her talk on growing flowers and vegetables, into a lively fairy story.

The next day was taken up with a visit to John’s garden at Ashwood Nurseries. This was followed by a glass bead demonstration at The Glass Cone in Wordsley. The evening was finished with a party held at member Lennie Harford’s home.

Saturday began with a visit to The Black Country Museum where visitors went down the mine and had lunch at the Workers Institute and finally the evening meal was held at The Crooked House in Gornal where everyone saw a display of marbles rolling up a counter. The final day was spent with regional President Jill Yarwood and Federation President Jenny Vince at the regions change of Insigina where members Stourbridge & District club Marjorie Ferguson and Lennie Harford exchanged Insigina.

The visitors were really impressed with the variety of activities that were available and gifts were exchanged.
