STAFF at a Stourbridge building society will be brewing up to mark a successful year of fundraising for Marie Curie.

The High Street branch of Yorkshire Building Society has raised £500 for the company’s Hour of Need campaign, which has collected £300,000 nationally.

To celebrate, the branch is hosting a tea party on Friday, June 26, where it will be serving cream teas to customers.

Steven Painting, manager, said: “The Hour of Need campaign is having a real impact on terminally ill people and their families in providing Marie Curie nursing support.

“This is the society’s most successful ever national fundraising campaign and this is all thanks to the commitment that our colleagues and members have shown in helping to raise £300,000 for Marie Curie.”

The society’s tea party will join others taking place across the country this week as part of Marie Curie’s Blooming Great Tea Party fundraising.
