AN adventurous Stourbridge charity trustee has taken a leap of faith after jumping from a plane 13,000ft up in the air for a very worthy cause.

Rob Fulton, a trustee for Lye-based Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, raised almost £5,000 from his death defying skydive at Langar Airfield in Nottinghamshire.

The fundraiser, who has also taken on an expedition to Antarctica, is encouraging people of all ages to challenge themselves to do something outside of their comfort zone.

Rob said: “I would definitely recommend a skydive to anyone. It was brilliant, exhilarating, a bit frightening but breath-taking and provided superb views over Nottinghamshire from 13,000ft.

“I have always wanted to do a parachute jump so when I heard that the charity was organising one in September, I decided to go for it!

“I love the charity, the people who work for it and those who donate their time as volunteers. It is very worthwhile, necessary and very much appreciated by the public in the areas it serves.”

Rob’s next adventure is a cruise along the Mekong River. He added: “Nothing quite as adventurous as the skydive or Antarctica!”

With no Government or National Lottery funding, the money raised for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity by Rob will help to fund two life saving missions.

The charity supports the air ambulances, which perform more than 2,000 missions a year and need to raise a minimum of £6.5m per year to keep its three helicopters manned and operational.
